Living inside is making us unhappy
Share
SERIOUS QUESTION: Are you exhausted after working for 8 hours behind a desk? I believe that's completely normal and I’m sure the reason why, will surprise you!
As humans we have very busy lives. We begin with school from 2 years old, graduate and start working to provide for our families. Over 80% of European workers have a job that is mostly within four walls.
Adding your lifestyle to that, how much of your life do you think you spend indoors?
When we celebrate our 80th birthday, on average we will have spent only 8 years of our lifetime outdoors and 72 years indoors.
That’s crazy, right?! And what’s even more, is that we weren’t built to live 72 years of our lives within four walls.
The first humans’ home was the great outdoors. They stayed fit, searched for food and occasionally relaxed in the sun. When the coast was clear, of course!
Nature is a great healer. And we are built to spend A LOT of time in it. That's why our mental health benefits so much from doing so, and the best part?
It’s for free!
The best hack to stop feeling miserable? Be outside more! Take an outdoor meeting, fold laundry in the garden, catch up with family on a walk, ...
And again, it’s for free!
Just think about this: What chore or hobby are you doing inside, but could you actually move outside?
